Gratitude!
As we enter this week of gratitude, we want to express our thanks and awe at having more than 900 members in Newton Indivisible! We are building a community of strong, loving, active people to save our Democracy.
Action event of the week from the Bridge Brigade Action Team

Important, timely action: please join us!
The Newton Bridge Brigade will be out on Wednesday, November 26th, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for a Thanksgiving message. Yes, you read that right: two hours, but come for as long as you can. Half an hour would be terrific. You will find us on the Kendrick St. Bridge. Drive on Kendrick St. past the JCC and Cutler Park, go up over the bridge, and take your first right to park on Hunting Road. You can’t miss us.
Our message is timely this week, and we predict that we will have lots of Thanksgiving honks, so we need lots of bridge brigaders waving. Our message will be BOYCOTT TARGET, AMAZON, HOME DEPOT 11/25 – 12/2 in support of the We Ain’t Buying It initiative described below.
We Ain’t Buying It?

This Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday, Indivisible groups throughout the country are joining together with many other organizations to make our dollars count. We’re asking Americans to hit pause on shopping from major corporations that are enabling Trump’s authoritarian overreach, and if you do shop, to shop locally instead. Visit the We Ain’t Buying It site to learn more.
Youth Recruitment Action Team
Please, be in touch with us. We are gearing up to engage youth in Newton Indivisible. Our first step is to contact students at North and South high schools, as well as at area colleges, including Boston College, Lasell, and UMass/Mount Ida Campus, who are involved in Climate Action, Political Action, or Government/Civics. If you know students or teachers who might be able to put us in touch with these student groups or student leaders in these areas, we would love to talk with you. Please email our team at youth@newton-indivisible.org to get involved.
Laughtivism Action Team
Fashion Show Take Two: Please join us for our Flash Mob Fashion Show at the Natick Mall, Saturday, December 13th, at 3:00 pm. This will be a real-life experiment in non-violent resistance. For more information, please contact us at laughtivism@newton-indivisible.org. Come out and support us!
Rallies Action Team

Every Saturday Standout in Newton Centre
Join us on Saturday, November 29th, for the 37th RESIST from noon to 1:00 pm! This Weekly Standout is brought to you by the Newton Indivisible Rallies Action Team.
We gather at the intersection of Beacon and Centre Streets. Please bring a sign; see The Big List of Protest Signs for ideas.
Elections Action Team

The Elections Action Team wants you to join our effort to flip a seat in the December 2nd special election in Tennessee, as outlined in this document. To get involved, contact us at elections@newton-indivisible.org.
Our next all-member meeting on Zoom
Our next meeting will take place on Sunday, December 7th, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Zoom. Please RSVP to receive the Zoom link. We meet every other week, alternating between in-person and Zoom meetings. For more information, please get in touch with us at info@newton-indivisible.org.
Noncooperation training
In case you missed our general meeting on noncooperation, or you’d like to hear about it again from a well-informed and charismatic speaker, the Freedom Trainers are planning a Noncooperation 101 training on December 4th at 7:00 p.m. EST. They will cover the authoritarian threat, pillars of support, stories of noncooperation in these times, and how noncooperation has been used to defeat authoritarians and fascists. Click here to register for this training.
