Quote of the week
The “Magna Carta is cited in at least 160 Supreme Court cases since 1789, not least as the foundation of the principle that executive power is subject to checks and balances.” – King Charles in his April 28, 2026 address to Congress
Summary of Lessons from Minnesota

Two Minnesota residents shared their advice and inspiring stories of resistance. They suggested we expect discomfort, uncertainty, intimidation, and lawlessness; know there is no guidebook; assess and decide your risk tolerance; and take initiative (don’t wait). They recommend sharing your opposition to the regime with everyone you encounter as both social proof and a means to expand your networks. They reported that ICE agents are intimidated by monitoring and recording their activities. As first steps, they recommend getting trained on “know your rights” and rapid response (offered in Massachusetts by the ACLU, LUCE, and MIRA).
For the inside scoop on how Minnesota organizers responded courageously to the ICE surge, view the videos Minnesota: A Model for Power & Progress Organizers vs. ICE (view full 13 min. version or view 3 min. version) and The Minnesota Miracle (view full 13 min. version or view 5 min version).

Commonwealth Advocacy Team
Tell your legislators to say NO to negotiating with corporate extortionists and NO to any deal with them. Corporate CEOs are trying to scare the legislature into a backroom deal to cut taxes for millionaires and corporations. These CEOs are still mad about the passage of the Fair Share Amendment. They chipped in a few more cents per dollar on their income over a million, and we were able to fund universal school meals, free community college, and more. They want to get rid of all of this and more. If the Legislature lets these corporate extortionists get their way, they will keep coming back year after year with more threats and more demands. And the investments we all depend on will suffer.
Newton Bridge Brigade Action Team
Sign up to help us reach our nationwide goal of messaging from 1,000 overpasses on D-Day Democracy Day (June 6th). We especially invite veterans and artists to contribute and participate. This will be the biggest Visibility Brigade nationwide action yet. We will engage millions while honoring those who fought fascism long ago on the beaches of Normandy.
We are out at several locations weekly. Visit the Bridge Brigade Action Team page for groups, dates, locations, and how to join one of the local Signal chats to stay up to date on these actions.
Rallies Action Team
We will hold our 61st RESIST standout in Newton Centre Green at the intersection of Beacon and Center Streets on Saturday from noon to 1:00 p.m. We request that photographers introduce themselves before taking any pictures.
