“The greatest threat facing the United States is its own president.” — David Rothkopf, author of The Great Questions of Tomorrow
What’s next after No Kings?
Last Saturday, approximately 2,000 friends and neighbors gathered in Newton Centre to joyfully demonstrate the people’s power, joining thousands of organized demonstrations across the United States, with Minnesota as the focal point. Ride the wave and get involved to stop and reverse the authoritarian takeover.

Listen to Robert Hubbell explain the value of events like the No Kings protest. Read how As Americans deepen their nonviolent mobilization, the Trump administration begins to make concessions.

We were delighted that Newton High School representative Sidney On spoke. They urged peers to get involved in local groups, called on parents to create spaces where kids feel free to speak, and called for community and love over fear and hate as the foundation for change. Read their speech.

The shameful effort to eliminate birthright citizenship
Did the Department of Justice really argue to resurrect the Dred Scott decision, likely the worst decision in the Supreme Court’s history and one that played a crucial role in the events that led to the American Civil War? In this video, Paul Gowder, the Frederic P. Vose Professor of Law at the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, discusses the intersection between the Fugitive Slave Act, ICE mass deportations, and the current debates surrounding birthright citizenship. According to Gowder: “Law is not imposed by force alone; law is imposed by force against people who disobey the will of their fellow citizens.”
