Candidate Forum for our 4th US Congressional District
Last Wednesday, a large group joined our forum to virtually meet Jason Poulos––who is seeking to be the Democratic candidate to represent Massachusetts’ Fourth Congressional District in the US Congress (CD-4). Poulos is not accepting money from corporate PACs, crypto PACs, AIPAC, or DMFI. As an independent researcher with expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) and policy, Poulos is fighting for solutions to protect citizens from the negative effects of AI. Celebrate Courts Considering DOJ Sanctions
The administration’s efforts to instill fear in resistance is not going well. Remember a jury found the DC man who threw a sandwich at a CBP agent not guilty of any crime. Courts across the country no longer assume the Department of Justice (DOJ) is acting in good faith.
For example, the DOJ brought felony criminal charges against six Chicago protestors who did not back down when an ICE agent drove an SUV into a crowd. The “Broadview Six” insisted that the Court review the transcript of the grand jury proceedings that resulted in their being charged with a felony. The DOJ dismissed the felony charges to moot the inquiry and then reluctantly presented the Court with a heavily-redacted, partial transcript. After insisting on review of the full unredacted transcript, the Court found extensive misconduct that opened the door on a widespread prosecutorial ethics inquiry. In an extremely rare move, under legal authority that allows DOJ compensation only for frivolous, vexatious, or bad faith litigation, the DOJ agreed to pay the attorneys’ fees for the Six. Citing their entitlement to attorneys’ fees as evidence of the need for further discovery, the Broadview Six requested appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate potential criminal charges against DOJ personnel.

Immigration Justice Volunteer Sought
The Indivisible Massachusetts Coalition (IMC) is looking to organize an effort across the 4th US Congressional District (CD-4) on their Congressional Oversight for Burlington ICE campaign.
