Local Call to Action: Stand Up Against ICE
On Wednesday, July 29th, at 7:00 p.m. (please note new time) at Newton City Hall, our City Councilors will respond to our recent public demands about Newton’s response to ICE. This is the follow-up to the April 15th public hearing when we showed up in numbers and spoke up for more protection for our residents, workers, and visitors against ICE. Let’s make sure we get the outcome we want by filling the Council Chamber with our supporters once again. Please wear something yellow so we are visible to the Council!
The Councilors will review who will respond and how the City of Newton will act if ICE enters the city, and how to ensure that established procedures are followed so that all individuals who live or work in Newton are protected from ICE engaging in door-to-door actions, harassment, or unlawful detention of residents and workers.

Laughtivism Action Team
After our successful debut at the “Wokestock Festival” in Allston, we are going to focus our creativity on saving the elections. Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to keep your eyes out for cartoons, articles, quotes, and actions that are inspiring and funny related to the elections. We will bring them together and brainstorm at our next meeting on Wednesday, August 12th, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in person at our regular meeting place in Newton Centre.

Rallies Action Team
