Action Teams
Newton Indivisible makes its biggest impact on democracy through our members’ Action Teams. Each action team operates independently (although working in close coordination with our Executive Committee), planning and carrying out activities to achieve its goals. Take a look at Action Teams: Get Involved to see the list of Action Teams.

Do you have an idea for a new Action Team?
Newton Indivisible creates and supports new Action Teams whenever good ideas arise! If you have an area of activism you’d like to address and Newton Indivisible doesn’t yet have a team for it, we’d love to hear from you. You can email our Action Team Coordinator or use our Action Team Contact Form and include:
- Name for your new team (short, pithy)
- Explanation of what the team would do, why it’s important, and if other teams would be involved (nobody sees this explanation but our committee)
- New team Lead or Leads—which could be yourself if you’re volunteering, and any other members that you know about or would like to recruit as a starting point. Please give us at least four names total so we know there is enough interest to launch the team.
Public description of the team for the website:
- Single paragraph for the Action Team page that will listed on the Action Teams: Get Involved page with an image if you have one, and
- Longer description, including pictures if you like, for the new team’s own page, for example see:
“Almost always, the creative, dedicated minority has made the world better.” — Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
“Justice is what love looks like in public.” — Dr. Cornel West

“One is a person through others.” — Setswana Proverb
“I believe that Gandhi’s views were the most enlightened of all the political men in our time. We should strive to do things in his spirit: not to use violence in fighting for our cause, but by non-participation. in anything you believe is evil” — Albert Einstein
