NEWTON INDIVISIBLE

We are a group of neighbors in and near Newton, Massachusetts, who organize with creativity, joy, passion, and nonviolence in support of democracy and social justice.

No Kings Rally, Newton Centre, March 28, 2026, was attended by over 2,000 people

We hold a Weekly Saturday Stand Out in Newton Centre at the intersection of Beacon and Center Streets, 12 Noon to 1 p.m., rain or shine, wind or hail, snow or heat. Join us at the intersection of Beacon and Center Streets.

Four times a week, Bridge Brigades share physical messaging with commuters to connect with and activate voters through “social proof” in the form of weekly inspirational messages that comment on the issues of our time.

Storytelling and Laughtivism

Our storytellers are producing short videos for our social media platforms, and we have launched the “Urgent Care Clinic for Democracy,” a “Dear Lucy” booth that provides diagnosis and prescriptions for political concerns in the tradition of laughtivism.

Pressuring Elected Officials

Our members participate in calling campaigns to state and national elected officials, engage in election advocacy, and conduct liaison work with our senators and congressmen, among other activities. During a recent town hall meeting with Congressman Jake Auchincloss, our members posed tough questions that highlighted the concerns of our community.

Defending Immigrant Rights

We work with LUCE, a coalition of immigrant-led, grassroots organizations building people power for everyone across Massachusetts, grounded in the principles of justice and equity, and deeply committed to keeping our communities safe through organizing, information sharing, and mutual aid.

Action Teams and Executive Committee

The heartbeat of Newton Indivisible is our members working in Action Teams that generate their own activities to celebrate our strength in diversity and to fight the forces that try to divide us, while our Executive Committee handles the big-ticket issues and provides support and coordination of the Action Teams.

“… in America the law is King. For as in absolute governments the King is law, so in free countries the law ought to be King; and there ought to be no other.”
